Day 1 - Sunday the 31st of July - Land’s End to St Austell.

At last...they’re off!
After a hearty English breakfast of Mars Bars, Kit-Kats and lashings of Pepsi-Max, the guys left behind Land’s End with it’s overcast skies in search of better weather.

I’m still trying to work-out who took the photo! They must’ve grabbed a passerby.

Day 2 - Monday the 1st of August - St Austell to Torquay.

Doug’s just admitted to Div that he ate his Mars Bar last night.

A herd of Mopeds
Last night after several hours of boldly telling scary yarns around the camp fire, the guys unnerved themselves to the point that they had to reti to the truck, close the curtains and and watch the rest of 'Thomas The Tank Engine' just to calm down.

Today, up at the crack of dawn... James on the frying pan and Markus on the throne the guys get ready for the next leg of their journey... the 108 miles to Torquay. Lets hope those repairs carried-out yesterday hold out.

Just look at all those tins of lemonade, they must really love the stuff!

Apparently sea mist is rolling-in, and with last night’s yarns still fresh in their mind’s, the guys are keen to set-off.

A big hello to Ben in New Zealand who is closely monitoring events.

Day 3 - Tuesday the 2nd of August - Torquay to Poole.

Another new day begins, this one starting at Torquay and ending 83 miles later at Poole. We lost one bike yesterday...  Lee’s Honda... and suffe numerous breakdowns but regardless of all that, the guys rolled into base-camp at 7:30pm... just in time for some repairs, a bite to eat and bed.

Here’s an image of Richard Allen giving his Garelli Tiger a bit of TLC... he’s not taking any chances after last year, and so far it has paid off with no problems reported... go Garelli Tiger!

Day 4 - Wednesday the 3rd of August - Poole to Hastings.

Day 4 begins at Poole with a hearty breakfast... James has prepa his, I wonder what the rest the team are having! Anyway... they are going to need a good meal to start off with... with the 132 miles to cover until they hit Hastings there won’t be too much time to stop and raid Ian’s nosebag.

I have no idea what state the bikes are in, or whose riding what but I’m confident that they’ll all be perched on something... even if a few of them have to double-up. And so the second half of the trip begins...

Day 5 - Thursday the 4th of August - Hastings to Southend.

Stu and Doug downing some much needed energy drinks, I didn’t know Bull came in bottles!

At 10:30 last night a bedraggled team stumbled into Hastings, rolling to a stop in a disorganised fashion outside ‘The White Heart’ public house, it took some-time to prise Ian’s white knuckles from off his Puch’s handlebars and Div needed to be physically shaken to snap him out of a vacant stare. Apparently my quote of 132 miles was out by at least 16 miles... in all it was a staggering 148 mile trip! Granted, nothing in a modern day motor... but on 1960-1970 50cc mopeds... that’s quite a feat.

Although I have no reports of any further break-downs or WWD adventures, I’m sure there were many, but after enjoying the hospitality of ‘The White Heart’ I expect it was time for them to roll-up their sleeves and get down to fixing some peds before hitting the sack.

So Day 5 begins and I’ve got them down for a 123 mile stint until they reach their destination of Southend, so far they’ve navigated hills, rivers and ferries but today they’ve got to deal with the Dartford Tunnel. And as mopeds are banned from riding through the tunnel I’ve had the guy’s solemn word that they’ll be mounted on their Steeds in the back of the truck as they pass through!

Day 6 - Friday the 5th of August - Southend to Wymondham.

Day 6 - The final leg home! With 110 miles until they can really relax I’m surprised I haven’t heard from them yet, but it’s 10:45am and not a squeak so far. I hope Markus remembe to set the alarm clock!
